Mokolo River Dam (Hans Strijdom Dam)

The information and related images should be verified with the relevant resort beforehand.

Mokolo Dam (Previously Hans Strijdom Dam) in the Mokolo River, Limpopo Province of South Africa, has a capacity of 145 million cubic metres. The dam lies on the northern slopes of the Waterberg Mountains, about 50 km south of Lephalale (Ellisras) and north east of the Marakele National Park. The large, beautiful dam in the mountains is well suited for water sports, camping and day visitors. There is a picnic area for day visitors and basic camping sites. Mokolo nature reserve at the dam is relatively small, but attracts visitors due to the lovely picnic and fishing spots around the dam. Some big Bass up to 4.6kg have been caught there.

This dam can be found near Ellisras on the R510.

This is a nice place to camp and the bathrooms are nice and clean.

Nice fish are found here, but you don't catch comfortably from the bank. This dam is more for boat fishing. The water is also very clean.
