Magoebaskloof Dam

There are two beautiful dams at Magoebaskloof, the Ebenzer Dam and the Tzaneen Dam. The Ebenzer Dam is great for fishing, picnicking, boating, birding and camping. The Ebenezer dam makes for a perfect family outing. This dam was built in 1959 high up in Magoebaskloof within the Groot Letaba River. It covers about 386 ha at 1,360 m of elevation. Some of the fishes found in the dam are: Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Barbel, Golden Carp, Kurper and Rainbow Trout. 

The Tzaneen Dam,Previously knows as Fanie Botha Dam is also located on the Groot Letaba River and is also surrounded by a nature reserve. The Dam provides a perfect venue for water sports, anglers, bird watching (over 350 species spotted), camping, caravanning and family picnics with a barbeque on the banks.
